I have worked and played with language all my life, and over the years have enjoyed teaching and coaching people who have intermediate and advanced conversational skills in my native language, Spanish. While not my full-time occupation, I usually have up to two students or couples with whom I meet weekly or twice monthly for two-hour sessions.

My accent-coaching work includes conversational Spanish students, and also professional Spanish talent in settings such as video and radio productions -- these are native speakers of Spanish who use my services to "neutralize" their accent when recording marketing and training programs targeting Latinos in the U.S. or other Latin American markets.

A core principle in the work I do is relevance: I will tailor terminology and conversational strategies that will enable you to improve the Spanish you already know, whether you use it primarily in a professional setting such as health care or business, or for leisure activities such as dance and travel.

Besides a 30-year-long career in the U.S. and Latin America writing, copy editing and recording in Spanish, my educational background in Spanish includes teaching for USAID programs in Spanish, lecturing in Spanish in many colleges and universities, developing an undergraduate "Careers for Bilingual People" course, and co-authoring a conversational Spanish audio program.
